About Us

The vision for Mary Valley Vista is to create something unique in holiday accommodation.  It is a showcase of sustainable living and aims to offer a destination for holiday makers where their carbon footprint is minimised.  Ask us about tree planting if you wish to reduce your travelling emissions!  

The fully renovated cabin comfortably sleeps 4 people and in every step of its transformation, the emphasis has been to minimise harm to the environment,  from recycling materials to using eco paint(low or no VOC's).  As an existing dwelling, it had quite a sound basis for a solar passive design so provided a good starting point for creating environmentally friendly guest accommodation.  All your energy needs are sourced with solar and gas, and the majority of waste is managed onsite.                

As a family partnership, we are focused on creating enthusiasm and passion for preserving our precious ecosystems so our children and future generations can also enjoy what we sometimes take for granted.  If we can pass on just one energy saving idea, or a new appreciation for our wild neighbours in the Australian bush then we have achieved our goal. 

In January 2010 we were finally awarded the Advanced Ecotourism Certification that we spent considerable time working towards in 2009.
